Panasonic has issued a recall for 11,480 toaster ovens connected to an electrical problem.

In a recall notice, Consumer Product Safety Commission officials said the power cord insulation on the device could be insufficient because of a “protective fiberglass sleeve not covering it sufficiently, posing a risk of shock and/or fire hazard.

CPSC officials noted that there have been four consumer reports of tripped circuit breakers or outlets, and one report that the product stopped working. So far, no fires or injuries have been reported.

Panasonic toaster ovens recall

Why you should care:

This recall covers Panasonic Electric Toaster Ovens. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the electric toaster ovens are stainless steel with the temperature knob located on the bottom. 

CPSC officials said the toaster ovens were sold on Amazon.com, Costco.com, Panasonic.com and other online platforms nationwide between October 2024 and April 2026 for $170.

Are refunds available for the toaster ovens?

What you can do:

The Consumer Product Safety Commission stated that consumers should immediately stop using the recalled electric toaster oven and call Panasonic to receive a full refund.
