Humble: Deerbrook Mall shooting

What we know:

According to the Humble Police Department, the shooting happened around 6:30 p.m. at the mall located off of I-69 and FM 1960, north of Houston.

Police say three officers were already on-duty at the mall and were able to quickly contain the situation.

A person, described only as a juvenile, was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound. The juvenile was then taken into surgery, and their condition is not known at this time.

A second person, an adult believed to be a bystander, was struck in the finger and sustained minor injuries, officials say.

A third person, another juvenile, was detained in connection to the shooting, according to police. Police say they believe they have everyone involved, and there is no ongoing threat.

What’s next:

The mall closed after the shooting. Several law enforcement agencies that responded to the scene will be investigating for some time.

What we don’t know:

No one involved has been identified. It’s unclear at this time what led up to the shooting.
