HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A standoff involving a barricaded suspect and a 3-month-old baby boy has ended safely, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

What we know:
During a news briefing on Monday night, Gonzalez said they received a call for service for a disturbance around 9 a.m. Monday morning.
Gonzalez said a woman had been confronted by an ex or an estranged husband.
Authorities said a gun was produced by the male suspect, and he fled with the 3-month-old, Gonzalez said.
Gonzalez stated an investigation began, and they weren’t able to initially locate the suspect.
Later in the day, authorities received information from sources that the man may have been at Princess Garden Way near West Orem in Harris County’s City Park area.

Authorities said they had information that the suspect was armed.
During the standoff, officials said they heard a gunshot, which may have been fired by the suspect, and that’s when authorities went into the home, Gonzalez said.
Officials said the 3-month-old child was safely secured and is being checked out by ambulance.
Gonzalez said the man was taken into custody and wasn’t injured.
Gonzalez added the suspect was wanted on a robbery warrant in Harris County.
Authorities stated the suspect will face additional charges from Monday’s incident, including aggravated robbery and kidnapping.
