A Colorado police officer used a feature on their body-worn camera to help her translate to a driver who spoke a different language.

The traffic stop happened in Parker, Colorado, a suburb of Denver.
The backstory:
The police department says their officer pulled over a vehicle with a burned-out taillight. After asking a couple of questions, the officer realized the driver of the vehicle did not speak English well enough to communicate with her.

Officer Strong identified the driver spoke Mandarin and a few moments later, with a click of a few buttons on the body cam, she was able to translate her identity and requests of asking the gentleman for his driver’s license and insurance for the camera speaker to play back for him to understand.
