The G7 Summit is underway. President Donald Trump and the leaders of six other nations are meeting in France, and the effects of the peace deal between the United States and Iran will be one of the top items on the agenda.

During the summit, Trump is expected to discuss removing the mines from the Strait of Hormuz, a task that both Britain and France have expressed an interest in aiding. Fear of the mines that may remain is still an obstacle for commercial traffic passing through the waterway.
Representatives from Egypt, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates are expected to join the meetings on Tuesday. While the three nations are not part of the G7, they are joining a session on Middle Eastern issues, including Iran.

The summit, which began Monday, comes just days before the expected signing ceremony for the peace agreement, which is set to take place on Friday in neighboring Switzerland.

Vance praises Trump, vows Iran will not have a nuclear weapon
6:40 a.m. ET: Vice President JD Vance praised President Donald Trump in a video released on social media platform, X.
Vance said Trump’s policy toward Iran would make sure Tehran will never be able to obtain a nuclear weapon.
“The president has been clear from day one: Iran will never have a nuclear weapon,” Vance said in the post on X.
