Tens of thousands of toys were recalled this week over concerns that young children could easily access their tiny batteries and potentially swallow them.
The toys’ importer, ABC Trading, issued a pair of recalls that cover three different toys as well as a set of shot glasses that light up, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Big picture view:
Approximately 84,700 toys were recalled, and the ones affected include a pink, plastic headband with white polka dots and two types of electronic pet cages, the CPSC reported. They were sold at TOYZ and Joissu Product stores across the country between November 2022 and October 2025 and cost between $5 and $9.

Recalled Toys
The toy headband, model number 6300RP, has a small push button on its bow that activates the lights inside it, the recall notice explained. Pictures of the products released by the agency show the front of the bow removed and the battery sitting where the knot would be.
The other two toys have easily accessible battery compartments on the bottoms of their bases, the pictures indicated. They were described as:
- A dinosaur toy, model 8266 (ZH998-22), that has a red dinosaur and a yellow egg inside a silver, plastic cage.
- A bird toy, model ZH-998-23, that has a blue bird inside a cage that has a pink top and bottom.

What you can do:
Anyone who purchased one of the toys is urged to stop using it immediately and contact ABC Trading for a refund. To get the refund, purchasers will be asked to email a photo of the item placed in the trash to [email protected].

Shot Glass Recall
ABC Trading also recalled a set of shot glasses that contain LED lights because they have batteries that can be easily reached by children.
The glasses, which were sold individually or in packs of 24, had buttons on the bottom that would activate the lights, the CPSC announcement stated. A label on the base of the recalled glasses reads “ITEM NO: LP-024 (122)” and “Importer: ABC Trading, Inc.”
The items were sold at Starzzone, Igiftsinc, and other gift stores nationwide between March 2024 and October 2025. They would typically cost between $6 and $10.

What you can do:
Like the toys, anyone who bought the shot glasses is asked to stop using them immediately and contact ABC Trading for a refund. To get the refund, purchasers will be asked to email a photo of the item placed in the trash to [email protected].
