TEXAS CITY, Texas<\/strong> – <\/span>A minor is said to be in custody in connection to the police equipment that was stolen in Texas City on Friday.<\/p>

Galveston County: Stolen police equipment found<\/h2>

What we know:<\/p>

The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office says someone burglarized an unmarked law enforcement vehicle and stole the following items:<\/p>

  • 300 Blackout AR with a suppressor<\/span><\/li>
  • Sheriff’s Office-issued ballistic vest<\/span><\/li>
  • Deputy’s duty belt<\/span><\/li><\/ul>

    A cash reward was being offered for information leading to the equipment being found or someone being arrested.<\/p>

    In an update on Saturday, county authorities said they received a tip about the equipment.\u00a0<\/p>

    Officials with the sheriff’s office and the Texas City Police Department watched over a Texas City home, then stopped a person that was seen leaving the home. The person allegedly admitted that the stolen equipment was in the home.<\/p>

    Law enforcement surrounded the home and called for everyone inside to exit. After getting a search warrant for the home, deputies reportedly found the missing rifle and vest along with other stolen items, including another gun.<\/p>

    A minor was reportedly found to be in connection to the stolen property and taken into custody.<\/p>
