GOUVERNEUR, N.Y.<\/strong> – <\/span>A New York woman was arrested after allegedly slapping another driver while waiting in a McDonald’s drive-thru because she believed he was taking too long to receive his order, according to police.<\/p>

The Gouverneur Police Department said Constance L. Cota, 39, of Gouverneur, was arrested at 5:14 p.m. on June 24 and charged with second-degree harassment involving physical contact.<\/p>

Police said the incident happened around 12:43 a.m. on June 20 at a McDonald’s drive-thru in Gouverneur.<\/p>

According to investigators, Cota was a passenger in a vehicle waiting in the drive-thru when she exited the vehicle, walked to the driver’s side of the vehicle in front of her and allegedly struck the driver across the face with her hand.<\/p>

Police said Cota allegedly became upset because she felt the driver in front of her was not moving quickly enough while waiting for his food.<\/p>

What’s next:<\/p>

Cota was arrested and later released with an appearance ticket. She is scheduled to appear in Gouverneur Town Court at a later date..<\/p>
