The USDT previously had a Treasury Hunt website for people to find and claim unredeemed or matured Treasury securities.\u00a0 It was shut down on September 30, 2025, as part of the SECURE Act 2.0, which improved the search capabilities for consumers with the USDT sharing bond information with state unclaimed property divisions to help citizens find and redeem matured securities.<\/p>

How to see if you have uncashed matured US Savings bonds<\/h2>

The backstory:<\/p>

The National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators (NAUPA) is an affiliate of the National Association of State Treasurers, the unclaimed property programs for all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, as well as several foreign jurisdictions.\u00a0The organization works to reunite unclaimed assets with rightful owners. NAUPA says in Fiscal Year 2023, they returned over $5 billion to rightful owners.\u00a0<\/p>

What you can do:<\/p>

\u00a0The NAUPA sponsored website\u00a0MissingMoney.com<\/u> is a free tool for people to search databases for unclaimed property.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

Queries will return any states in which there is a match, and provide information and links to the official government websites to begin the claims process.<\/p>
