PHILADELPHIA<\/strong> – <\/span>World Cup knockout soccer is coming to Philadelphia on July 4, adding another major event to a historic holiday weekend as the city celebrates America\u2019s 250th birthday.<\/p>

What we know:<\/p>

France will face Paraguay in the Round of 16 on Saturday, July 4, at Philadelphia Stadium.<\/p>

The match is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET and will be played as Philadelphia takes center stage for both the World Cup and America\u2019s 250th anniversary celebration.<\/p>

Philadelphia is hosting six World Cup matches during the tournament, including this July 4 knockout match.<\/p>

France advanced after a 3-0 win over Sweden in the Round of 32. Kylian Mbapp\u00e9 scored twice, and Bradley Barcola added another goal to help France move on.<\/p>

Paraguay reached the Round of 16 after eliminating Germany.<\/p>

Why it matters in Philadelphia<\/h2>

This is not just another World Cup match for Philadelphia.<\/p>
