Conair is recalling more than one million Cuisinart grill brushes after reports of loose metal bristles becoming detached during use and even accidentally swallowed in several cases.<\/p>

What we know:<\/p>

According to the recall notice from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the recall impacts 1,719,995 metal wire-bristle grill brushes sold under the Cuisinart brand since 2009.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

All the impacted models are baton-shaped with black plastic, stainless steel or wood handles. The word “Cuisinart” is printed on the handle of each recalled model.\u00a0<\/p>

The CPSC says the brushes pose a serious ingestion hazard because small bristles can break off, stick to grill grates or food and cause internal injuries that could require medical treatment.\u00a0<\/p>

Conair has received at least 54 reports of bristles detaching, including three incidents in which someone has swallowed the metal pieces and needed medical attention to remove them.\u00a0<\/p>
