The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall involving more than 70,000\u00a0children\u2019s teething toys<\/u> due to the risk of serious injury or death from choking.<\/p>

The recall<\/u> follows actions earlier this year involving similar products sold by other companies.<\/p>

GOPO TOYS teething toy recalled<\/h2>

Big picture view:<\/p>

According to the notice issued Thursday, the GOPO TOYS Pull String Teething Toys violate the mandatory standard for toys because the silicone strings are smaller and longer than permitted.\u00a0<\/p>

The strings can reach the back of the throat and become lodged, posing a serious risk of respiratory distress, a serious choking hazard and death.<\/p>

The firm said it is aware of three reports of the toy\u2019s strings reaching the back of a child\u2019s throat, resulting in respiratory distress or choking. About 70,410 units were recalled.\u00a0<\/p>

The toys were sold on Amazon from August 2023 to March 2026 for between $11 and $15.<\/p>

The teething toy is an off-white disc shape with a grey ball in the center and six long pull string “tentacles” of various colors running through the ball.\u00a0<\/p>

There are also seven soft push buttons on the disc.<\/p>

The recall number is 26-562. The brand name and “Pull String Toy” are printed on the front of the product packaging, and the batch number 250905, 250530, 250120, 240315, 231005 or 230610 are on the back of the packaging.<\/p>

Consumers should stop using teething toy immediately\u00a0<\/h2>

What you can do:<\/p>

The CPSC said that consumers should stop using the teething toy immediately and take it away from children.\u00a0<\/p>

Consumers should cut and discard all string tentacles, write “DESTROYED” with permanent marker on the main body of the toy, and submit a photograph of the destroyed product to\u00a0recalls@gopotoys.com<\/u>. Consumers should then dispose of the destroyed product.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

Recall follows similar teething toy recalls<\/h2>
