James Talarico in the general election in November.<\/p>\n<p> <!-- --><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p> <!-- --><\/p>\n<p>In a video posted Monday morning on Talarico\u2019s campaign account on X, attorney Dan Cogdell said he\u2019s backing Talarico.<\/p>\n<p> <!-- --><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I defended Ken Paxton for years in the impeachment trial and in state criminal cases,&#8221; Cogdell said while chatting with Talarico. &#8220;But in my view, respectfully, I think Ken has lost sight of his core mission, which is to represent the people of Texas.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p> <!-- --> <!-- --><\/p>\n<p>The other side:<\/p>\n<p> <!-- --><\/p>\n<p>Other members of Paxton\u2019s impeachment defense team took to X, as well, saying they aren\u2019t surprised by Cogdell\u2019s endorsement.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/houstonmovingjournal.com\/?p=3890\">Suspect wanted in deadly Houston shooting on Canal Street in East End<\/a><\/p>\n<p> <!-- --><\/p>\n<p>Attorney Tony Buzbee said Cogdell was one of 20 lawyers on the team.<\/p>\n<p> <!-- --><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Mr. Cogdell is a life-long Democrat,&#8221; Buzbee wrote.<\/p>\n<p> <!-- --><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I firmly support AG Paxton for US Senate,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p> <!-- --> <!-- --><\/p>\n<p>State Rep. Mitch Little, who represents District 65 and was also part of Paxton\u2019s defense team, expressed love for Cogdell but described him as a Democrat who doesn\u2019t vote very much.<\/p>\n<p> <!-- --><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This impeachment defense lawyer is 100% behind Ken Paxton,&#8221; Little wrote.<\/p>\n<p> <!-- --> <!-- --><\/p>\n<p>The backstory:<\/p>\n<p> <!-- --><\/p>\n<p>Paxton won the Republican nomination during runoff with incumbent Sen.
