HOUSTON<\/strong> – <\/span>An investigation continues after authorities executed a search warrant on a business in West Houston on Wednesday.\u00a0<\/p>

Police on scene of illegal gambling investigation in West Houston<\/h2>

What we know:<\/p>

<\/div>

Officials said they are at the intersection of Richmond Avenue and Westerland Drive.\u00a0<\/p>

According to Houston police, over the past several months, authorities received complaints from people in the area that there was illegal gambling and other activity going on at a business.\u00a0<\/p>

The Midwest Differential Response Team was contacted. Officials said those officers deal with quality of life issues, such as illegal gambling and convenience stores operating without permits.\u00a0<\/p>

The Vice division was also contacted who sent in undercover investigators into the business several times and determined there was illegal gambling going on at the business.\u00a0<\/p>

A judge was contacted and authorities received the search warrant for the location, officials stated.\u00a0<\/p>

Authorities said due to the nature of the business, they usually lock the doors and have armed security. As a result, officials stated they had their SWAT team serve the warrant.\u00a0<\/p>

Approximately 80 to 90 people were in the club when the SWAT team entered the business.\u00a0<\/p>

Police stated four to five people were taken into custody.\u00a0<\/p>

Officials added Vice officers are conducting a follow-up investigation to see if there is any gambling paraphernalia or any money connected to gambling.\u00a0<\/p>

Police said there were no machines inside the business, it was gaming tables and card tables.\u00a0<\/p>

No injuries were reported in connection to the search warrant being served.\u00a0<\/p>

What we don’t know:<\/p>

It’s unclear what the people taken into custody are being charged with.\u00a0<\/p>
