SAN DIEGO<\/strong> – <\/span>San Diego police responded en masse on Monday to an Islamic center for a possible active shooter, authorities said on social media.<\/p>

\u2018Reported active shooter\u2019 at Islamic Center of San Diego<\/h2>

What we know:<\/p>

<\/div>

The San Diego Police Department said officers were called out just after noon to the Islamic Center of San Diego along the 7000 block of Eckstrom Avenue for a “reported active shooter.”<\/p>

No injuries were immediately reported.\u00a0<\/p>

Still, Gov. Gavin Newsom’s Office stated that he was aware of the unfolding situation in the Clairemont neighborhood, and that he was coordinating with local police.<\/p>

San Diego Mayor Todd Garcia also said on social media that he was aware of the situation and getting updates from police.<\/p>

Police said at 12:44 p.m. that the scene was “contained,” but still active.\u00a0<\/p>

A reunification site has been set up at 4125 Hathaway Street in San Diego.<\/p>

Aerial views showed dozens of police cars lined up from the white-domed mosque into the neighborhood.\u00a0<\/p>

One image showed officers in khaki pointing rifles down what appeared to be an outdoor passageway near the school of the\u00a0mosque.<\/p>
