Multiple people have been injured after a fire and explosion broke out at a lumber mill in Maine on Friday.<\/p>

What we know:<\/p>

Waldo County officials said at least five people were injured, but a full assessment was not complete.\u00a0<\/p>

<\/div>

The fire broke out after an explosion at Robbins Lumber in Searsmont, Maine, a town about 95 miles from Portland, officials said.\u00a0<\/p>

Maine State Police and fire marshals are responding to the fire, state police spokesperson Shannon Moss said.<\/p>

The cause of the explosion was not immediately known as of this report.\u00a0<\/p>

Robbins Lumber’s website states that it has been a family-owned firm for five generations and has been in existence since 1881. The website describes the company as a “a high-tech lumber manufacturer.”<\/p>
