The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall involving more than 100,000 children\u2019s teething toys due to the risk of serious injury or death from choking.<\/p>

The recall follows a similar action earlier this year involving an almost identical product sold by another company.<\/p>

Big picture view:<\/p>

According to the notice issued Thursday, Tiyol Pull String Teething Toys violates the mandatory standard for toys because the silicone strings are smaller and longer than permitted.\u00a0<\/p>

The silicone strings can reach the back of the throat and become lodged, posing a risk of respiratory distress, a serious choking hazard and death.<\/p>

The CPSC said it is aware of 11 choking incidents from the recalled product. About 102,430 units were recalled.\u00a0<\/p>

The toys were sold on Amazon from October 2022 to January 2026 for between $10 and $12.<\/p>

The teething toy is an off-white disc shape with a red ball in the middle and six long pull string “tentacles” of various colors running through the ball.\u00a0<\/p>

There are also three free-spinning rings and soft push buttons on the disc.\u00a0<\/p>

The recall number is 26-481, and “Model no. 688-59” is printed on the product packaging.<\/p>

Consumers should stop using teething toy immediately\u00a0<\/h2>

What you can do:<\/p>

The CPSC said that consumers should stop using the teething toy immediately and take it away from children.\u00a0<\/p>

Consumers should cut and discard all string tentacles, write “RECALLED” on the main body of the toy using a permanent marker, and submit a photograph of the destroyed product online at\u00a0https:\/\/tiyol-recall.com<\/u>.\u00a0<\/p>

This recall follows a separate, but very similar recall issued by the CPSC in February.<\/p>

The agency issued a\u00a0recall involving another children\u2019s teething toy<\/u> due to the risk of serious injury or death from choking.<\/p>

The\u00a0AitTuiTui Pull String Teething Toy<\/u> also violated the mandatory standard for toys because the silicone strings were smaller than permitted.\u00a0<\/p>

At the time of that recall, CPSC said it was aware of 15 choking incidents and two incidents of children being able to bite pieces off the silicone strings. More than 49,400 units were recalled of this product.<\/p>
