Hundreds of boxes of dietary supplements sold in the United States have been\u00a0recalled\u00a0<\/u>because they could possibly contain kratom, a stimulant that could be potentially fatal in high doses.<\/p>

The Food and Drug Administration issued an alert for a recall\u00a0<\/u>of Better Weather Fix Elixir products on May 11.\u00a0<\/p>

By the numbers:<\/p>

Approximately 448 boxes of all flavors and variations contained undeclared mitragynine and mitragynine pseudoinodxyl (MP).<\/p>

MP is a more potent derivative of mitragynine, which is also known as kratom.\u00a0<\/p>

What they’re saying:<\/p>

“Consumption of products that contain Mitragynine or MP, especially in the context of concomitant use of other drugs (prescribed or illicit), could result in other severe or fatal physiological effects,” the FDA said.\u00a0<\/p>
