LEAGUE CITY, Texas – An investigation is underway after a man is accused of fatally stabbing his own mother and critically injuring his father on Friday evening in League City, officials said.

What we know:
Police say the incident was reported at around 7 p.m. Friday at a home on Deer Ridge Drive, near SH-3 and Washington Street. The 911 call reportedly came from a man saying he and his wife had been stabbed.
Officers responded to the scene and found the man in the front yard with stab wounds and cuts. As officers were giving the man medical care, he told them that his wife was still in the home with the suspect, later identified as 32-year-old Juan Jose Uribe Pelaez.

Police forced their way into the home and called for Palaez, the couple’s son, to come out. A rescue team then went into the home to bring out Paleaz’s mother.
When Palaez didn’t respond to police commands, officials used a drone to find him in a bedroom. Officers eventually brought Paleaz into custody with the use of a Taser.

Palaez’s parents were taken to a hospital, where his mother was pronounced deceased.
The father is said to be recovering. He was initially in critical condition.
Palaez is said to be charged with Murder and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon Causing Serious Bodily Injury — Family Violence. Both charges have a bond of $250,000, totaling $500,000.
What we don’t know:
The circumstances leading up to the stabbing are unknown.
The victims have not been named at the time. Police confirmed the victims were the suspect’s parents.
