GOUVERNEUR, N.Y. – A New York woman was arrested after allegedly slapping another driver while waiting in a McDonald’s drive-thru because she believed he was taking too long to receive his order, according to police.

The Gouverneur Police Department said Constance L. Cota, 39, of Gouverneur, was arrested at 5:14 p.m. on June 24 and charged with second-degree harassment involving physical contact.
Police said the incident happened around 12:43 a.m. on June 20 at a McDonald’s drive-thru in Gouverneur.
According to investigators, Cota was a passenger in a vehicle waiting in the drive-thru when she exited the vehicle, walked to the driver’s side of the vehicle in front of her and allegedly struck the driver across the face with her hand.

Police said Cota allegedly became upset because she felt the driver in front of her was not moving quickly enough while waiting for his food.
What’s next:
Cota was arrested and later released with an appearance ticket. She is scheduled to appear in Gouverneur Town Court at a later date..
