Luxury wedding planner Sonal Shah told the New York Post that it could cost the famous couple nearly $2.5 million just to rent out the arena. She then estimated that the wedding could cost up to $20 million in total, possibly becoming the most expensive celebrity wedding in the U.S.

Shah also pointed out that the couple will need to hire a full staff, including a security team, which will also come and a large price.
“A weekend night at one of the most iconic venues in the world is not just about renting the space — you’re also paying for exclusivity, staffing, security, operations, and the opportunity cost of a concert or sporting event that could otherwise be taking place,” she told the Post. “Once you add production, security, catering, entertainment and décor, a Madison Square Garden wedding could very realistically become a $10 million to $20 million-plus event.”
How much does average wedding and reception cost?
According to The Knot Real Weddings Study 2026, the average wedding and reception cost in 2025 was around $34,000 with the average cost per guest being $292.
The data said that 25% of couples spent approximately $12,000 or less on their wedding and reception, 50% of couples spent between $12,000 and $41,000 and 25% of couples spent over $41,000.
