Tesla has recalled 218,868 cars over a faulty rearview camera problem.
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration officials in a May 5 recall notice stated that a delayed rearview image lowers the driver’s view behind the car, elevating the risk of a crash.

Tesla’s recall covers certain 2017, 2021-2023 Model 3, 2020-2023 Model Y, 2021-2023 Model S, and Model X vehicles operating software version 2026.8.6.

The rearview camera image could be delayed when the car is placed in reverse, which doesn’t comply with federal safety standards for “rear visibility,” according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
