Deadly shooting on Fairchild Street
What we know:
The shooting was reported shortly after noon at a home on Fairchild Street, near North Loop East and Wayside Drive.
Police say the alleged shooter, 28, surrendered when officers arrived. First responders provided aid to another man who had been shot multiple times on the front porch.
The wounded man was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
What we don’t know:
Authorities have not publicly identified anyone involved in the shooting. It’s unclear what led to the shooting.

Case will go to grand jury
What’s next:
Police interviewed the alleged shooter, and consulted with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. Authorities say it was decided that the case would be presented to a grand jury to determine if anyone would face charges.
