STATEN ISLAND – Over a dozen people were injured in an explosion on Staten Island, according to FDNY.

What we know:
FDNY reports that an explosion occurred at 3075 Richmond Terrace at 4:19 p.m.
The total count of victims is currently 16:
- 1 civilian was seriously injured
- 2 firefighters were seriously injured
- 2 firefighters were moderately injured
- 9 firefighters were injured minorly
- 2 EMS workers were injured minorly
All were taken to the nearest hospital.
What we don’t know:
It is not currently known what caused the explosion.
