The alert from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said the product was found to potentially contain undeclared shrimp, posing a serious health risk for people with shellfish allergies.

According to the FDA, Kettle Cuisine is recalling 24-ounce containers of Whole Foods Market Kitchen Minestrone Soup after it was discovered that at least one container had been filled with the wrong soup containing shrimp.
The recall impacts products sold in Whole Foods stores across 17 states and Washington, D.C. The soup was also sold nationwide through online orders on the Whole Foods and on Amazon.
Kettle Cuisine said the issue was identified after an in-store discovery revealed one soup container held the incorrect product. The company noted that no other soup varieties or date codes are included in the recall.
