Former Broncos and Cowboys quarterback Craig Morton has died at the age of 83.
Morton passed away Saturday in Mill Valley, California, according to the Denver Broncos organization, who confirmed through his family.
Morton, the first NFL quarterback to start the Super Bowl for two different franchises, was known for his strong arm and a stellar college career at California under former Buffalo Bills coach Marv Levy.
Morton was selected fifth in the 1965 NFL draft to the Dallas Cowboys, where he led them to their first Super Bowl berth in a losing effort in 1970.

Later in his career, he also took the Broncos to the big game against his former team, but only threw for 39 yards before being benched in the loss to the Cowboys.
Morton is one of four quarterbacks to start in the Super Bowl for two different teams, the Broncos and the Cowboys.
He won his only Super Bowl ring as a backup with the Cowboys behind Roger Staubach.
