HEAT SAFETY REMAINS PRIORITY 

HOUSTONA Heat Advisory has been extended through 7 p.m. Tuesday. Highs climb near 100° inland, with steamy humidity pushing the feels-like temperature into the 106° to 110° range. Continue to practice sun and heat safety by wearing sunscreen and drinking plenty of water. Also, try to avoid long periods of time outside during the hottest part of the day.

HOT WEEK AHEAD

The heat holds through the week, with afternoon highs in the upper 90s to near 100°. A few isolated to spotty showers and storms may return during the second half of the week, but the heat will remain the main story.

TROPICAL UPDATE

We’re watching two areas of low pressure in the Atlantic, but there are no systems posing a threat to Texas. A disturbance near Bermuda and a tropical wave near the West Coast of Africa both have a medium chance for tropical development. The next 2 names on the list would be Dolly and Edouard.  Even if they form, they are not expected to come close to the United States.  Continue to stay prepared because we are approaching what is typically the busiest part of hurricane season.
