HOUSTON – A man was taken into custody after a SWAT standoff at a Kingwood home on Thursday morning.

What we know:
The scene unfolded on Garden Lake Drive near Tree Lane.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, a 38-year-old man was wanted by the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Fugitive Task Force for a felony warrant.
The sheriff’s office says its SWAT team assisted in serving the warrant.
The man allegedly refused to come out of the house, but he was eventually taken into custody.

Authorities have not officially identified the man.
Nearby school responds
Humble ISD confirmed that Bear Branch Elementary, which is located nearby, was placed on “Secure the Perimeter” during the incident.
“During Secure the Perimeter, students and staff remain in the building and access to the campus is restricted. Classes continue as normal during this time,” a district official said.
