
HOUSTON – Southbound lanes on Interstate 45 in north Houston have reopened following an emergency incident that brought traffic to a standstill Sunday morning, officials said.

Emergency on I-45
The incident happened near the intersection of the North Freeway and Richey Road. The emergency response initially forced a full shutdown of all southbound main lanes as well as the HOV/HOT lane network.
According to the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO), the freeway closure and resulting delays ended shortly before 10:35 a.m.
